Benefits of Telehealth

Telehealth is a virtual opportunity to see your therapist via webcam. Engaging in therapeutic activities, while completing tasks in your home, is a great way for your child to work in their natural environment.

Our clinic uses Google Meet, which can be accessed on any electronic device, such as iPad, Smartphone, desktop, tablet, etc. At the time of your appointment, your therapist will email you a link to join the session.

Although in person sessions are the best way for your child and therapist to interact, this is a great option if your child is sick, or there are transportation concerns. Therapists will have a plan for these sessions, but it is helpful for parents to have toys/materials accessible during the session.

It is also important for the parents to be present to help facilitate the session if your child is young or needs assistance attending to the session. To ensure the quality of the session, children need to be in a place that supports learning with minimal distractions, such as a well-lit, quiet area.

If you are unsure if your child would benefit from telehealth services, feel free to discuss with your child’s therapist and the front office. If it is deemed inappropriate, all efforts will be made to reschedule your child in person!
